Photosite was created by a photographer, for photographers.

The idea behind Photosite is simple: spending time creating photographs should be more important than spending time building websites.

Its aim is to provide a clean, polished and straightforward place where photographers can organise, present and share their work with the minimum amount of setup and technical knowledge.

Why Photosite Exists

Many photography services provide powerful website builders, online stores and countless configuration options. Those features are valuable for some photographers, but they can also introduce complexity, cost and a significant amount of time spent managing a website rather than creating photographs.

Photosite takes a different approach.

Our Philosophy

Photosite is built around a simple idea: technology should support photography, not get in the way of it. The software should make it easier to organise, curate and share photographs without requiring the photographer to become a web designer, hosting administrator or technical specialist.

The service is intended to be simple enough for someone just beginning their photography journey, while still being polished enough for experienced photographers who want to present selected work professionally.

Photosite follows a natural photographer-friendly workflow:

Albums and Portfolios

Photosite makes a clear distinction between organising your work and presenting it.

Albums help you organise photographs from events, holidays, projects, visits or individual photo shoots. They are useful working collections.

Portfolios are curated collections of your best work, grouped by style, subject, genre or photographic skill. A single photograph can appear in more than one portfolio without creating duplicate copies.

This approach lets photographers keep their archive organised while still presenting selected work in a polished and purposeful way.

The Public Gallery

The Photosite Gallery is the public introduction to the photographers who use the service.

Rather than displaying every uploaded image, the Gallery presents featured photographs selected from photographers' public portfolios. These images can rotate over time, helping visitors discover different photographers, subjects and styles of work.

The Gallery is intended to encourage visitors to explore photographers' portfolios while giving each photographer the opportunity to showcase their work.

Built for the Long Term

Photosite will continue to evolve. New features will be added where they improve the experience for photographers, but the guiding principle will remain the same:
